Approaching the End of the Year

Happy December, everyone.

December’s arrival means that my latest Harlequin Nocturne, ALASKAN WOLF, is now available!

It’s also the last month of 2010. Where did the year go?

I suppose, for me, it disappeared into a plethora of deadlines--one of which I just met today.

There were family trips, too--two cruises, one Caribbean and one New England and Canada. There were visits with family, here and at their homes.

Plus there were writing conferences, including Left Coast Crime and the Romance Writers of America National Conference. Not to mention quite a few meetings of local chapters of the writing organizations to which I belong. And talks I gave, panels on which I participated, both for book promotion and to support those chapters.

Then there was a lot of research for my writing, including some really fun stuff for my upcoming Pet Rescue Mystery series.

Not to mention my visits to Pet Orphans of Southern California, where I’m a volunteer.

Some law stuff, too. Even though I’m currently a full-time writer, I keep looking for the perfect law job to go with my writing career.

And I can’t forget to mention all the time I’ve spent on the computer--writing, blogging, joining and following Facebook, doing research, and, yes, doing crossword puzzles. Enjoyable? Yes. But also time-consuming. No wonder the year’s almost over.

Okay, I realize that there’s still one month left in 2010. I plan to make it count, and to have fun with it--despite all the things I have marked on the calendar that I still need to accomplish this year.

How about you--is the year passing fast for you? What do you still need to get done--besides holiday shopping, of course?

I want the year to end because 2011 is going to be a better year for me.

All I have to say is where did this year go?

Happy Holidays!

I'm looking forward to 2011 also. Can't believe 2010 went so fast.

I agree with both of you, Janie and Janet. And Happy Holidays from me, too!

I have a book to finish. But mostly, we’re just waiting for 2010 to be over and done, because husband/Dad will come home from Iraq in January. 2010 was an interesting year, that’s for sure. Shortly after husband/Dad left, I found out, much to everyone’s shock, that I was pregnant -– a small medical miracle, which had great timing: baby Ivy was born just two hours after Dad flew in on R&R. That was a lot of excitement for one year. Luckily, my publisher is super understanding, because I’m probably not going to make the Dec 31 (self-imposed) deadline :-)

Wow, Nadja, 2010 has been quite a year for you--and the potential for 2011 sounds wonderful, too!

I still have a bowl of Halloween candy sitting by the door. What happened to November?
