A Writer's Mundane Life

This writer lives a mostly very mundane life, with occasional excursions into exciting territory. Right now it’s mundane. I rise, I read blogs, I write, I talk to sources about dyeing. Rinse and repeat.

Outdoors, winter goes on and on. Snow, plow, repeat. There are piles of snow in my own neighborhood as tall as a two-story building. There are intersections I avoid because the snow is piled so high on the corners it’s impossible to see oncoming traffic.

And it’s barely February.

There are predictions for horrible floods when this stuff melts in the spring. That’s an exciting time I would gladly miss. Maybe we'll have a long, slow-forming spring that will allow the snow to gradually melt. Maybe.

Meanwhile, I’m making plans for more interesting times. Beginning in April, I’m speaking at a lot of libraries. The very end of April, I’m going to Bethesda, Maryland, for a wonderful convention called Malice Domestic – and in late October to another wonderful convention called Magna cum Murder. The next novel, And Then You Dye, is taking exciting shape. So indeed this is the calm before the storm.

Are you making plans?

Never mundane, Monica--just temporarily low key. Yes, I'm making lots of signing, conference and other plans for coming months but not, fortunately, having to deal with bad weather in the meantime.

I'm glad you're going to Malice. Me, too.

So grateful I don't have to deal with your weather! Leaves a lot of time for other things...
