Does anyone know what day it is?

I clearly don't. I lost an afternoon to a springtime cold and only remembered that it was my turn to blog when I woke up this morning, still under the weather.

Time for a contest, then. I'll give away a set of Stamping Sisters Mysteries, STAMPED OUT, INKED UP and FALSE IMPRESSIONS. Tell me what you do when you're sick.

Catch up on the DVR? I've got at least two episodes of Justified on there, plus a PBS special on Body Language. I bought the Fifth and Final Season of Friday Night Lights. A marathon might be in order.

Catch up on the reading? My TBR pile threatens to topple over. Little Bee, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, The Tenderness of Wolves. Goddesses in Older Women, Younger Next Year. All waiting to be read.

Sleep? Or are you the type that powers through? Give me your sure fire remedies and maybe you'll win a set of books. They might come in handy if you get sick.

If I just have a head cold, I find that exercise does the trick. I know. Crazy. But it seems like a good workout flushes the bug out of the system.

I often bounce between watching something on television or listening to an audiobook. If I'm just sluggish and not too brain fogged I'll throw in some knitting. It can also be a good time to catch up on my blog reading as well.

Hope you are back to 100% soon!

Hope your better soon.

Kristi, you've convinced me to talk a walk. Thanks!

Fiber Fool, thanks for the well wishes. I might try a little quilting to clear my head.

Liz V, the soup sounds amazing. Chicken soup is good for whatever ails you. I like those authors, too.

Great suggestions, Becki and Julie. I'm going to drink a cup of tea and read until I fall asleep!

I hope you're feeling better, Terri. I always try to read when I'm ill and not sleeping.

I read if my head isn't hurting. Lots of times I just channel surf until I hit something interesting, saving my DVR stuff for when I feel well & can think!
Feel better soon.

I surround myself with pillows, blankets, liquids, and books. Then I sleep, drink, read, in no particular order. I love hot and sour soup for a cold. I like to make my own, but I'm not above ordering in if I feel too bad. Especially if my husband can pick it up!

Hope you feel better soon.

I usually do my best to push on, until my body makes me stop. Then sleep is what I need (it is the only time I can sleep past 6:00am. After that give me a good book and a blanket or two.

I’m a strong believer in denial. I ignore whatever ails me as long as I can. Then I liberally dose myself with medication and try to get some rest. Being a mom of three … mostly I just muddle through. I did have the flu two years ago and all I was able to do was sleep. Even watching TV required way too much energy on my part. I do hope you feel better.

Me, I pamper myself and crash on the couch and spend my time having the TV watch me sleep.

Don't enter me in the contest.

Loving all the suggestions. I managed the walk, the chicken soup, the TV watching and blog surfing.

Thanks for your well wishes. I'm on my way to feeling better.

I'll close the contest Sunday night and pick a random winner.

I am like marlene in that I get comfy with blankets and such in my easy chair and invite the dogs up for a cuddle-fest. For a sore throat, try a hot lemonade with a spoonful of honey stirred in. If you add a spot of Scotch you can nap the day away!

It depends on how sick I am. If I'm fever etc. sick, I sleep. A lot. I can't focus enough to read. If it's a milder sick, then I switch off between reading and TV (or TV on the computer).

Thanks everyone, for commenting. Must have worked because I'm all better now. Thanks for playing along!

Using the random number generator, the winner of the prize (a set of Stamping Sisters mysteries) is...Becki!

Becki, please send an email to me at Terri@territhayer.com and let me know your snail mail address. Congrats!
