This Is A Test

Last week, I posted my Killer Hobbies blog late. The reason was that program updates had been loaded onto my computer that somehow didn’t mesh with blogspot, so, although it accepted drafts, it didn’t allow me to post.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned here before how untechie I am. Fortunately, that doesn’t run in the family. My younger son gave me something to try: finding a setting on the menu that appears at the top of the page when I’m on the Internet that tells the conflicting programs to work on their compatibility... or something like that.

My issues also involved some other online sites I wanted to access, and I’ve been able to test them during the past week. But this is the first time I’m attempting to post a blog on Killer Hobbies since the issue began.

If you see this, then the system worked! Or, as I finally did last week, I resorted to an older computer without the updates.

Have you ever had similar problems where, if you change one program via an update or otherwise, other programs no longer work as they should? If so, what did you do?

It worked! Which is more than I can say for my office computers this morning. They do not like rain, I think.
Good luck with yours.

Ah, but I did have to struggle with it and try a couple of different times to achieve compatibility. Good luck with your computers, too, Anonymous!

That has happened to me several times and most time I uninstall the program and then do that system restore thing.

But you obviously know what you're doing, Dru!

I was having a terrible time trying to download AOL on my new computer. It isn't automatically in them anymore, and you can't get a disc at your local Office Depot.

I finally asked for my son's help and he couldn't get it to download either and gave up.

I wouldn't accept defeat and made another attempt and finally got it to download.

I'm not sure what was more unsettling for my son more - that he couldn't get it done or that antique me, could.

Congrats to you, Betty. I'm impressed!

I have several older programs I'm fond of. A lot of them don't run under Windows 7, and even the ones that DO run are sluggish and crabby.
