Status Report

I have a bad cold. It is abating now, and I should be able to resume normal activities today or tomorrow. I haven’t had a cold in a really long time – years, in fact; so this was kind of a surprise. I remember reading that there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of colds. You can only catch a particular one once, then you’re immune to it. That’s why toddlers seem to always have a cold, and why the older you get, the fewer colds you have. Does anyone know if that’s true?

A web designer is coming over today to show my web mistress and me what she’s done with my web site. I’ve gotten a few glimpses of it, and I’m all excited to get it up and out there.

In the lower half of Minnesota it’s not considered safe to plant vegetables and flowers (the already started ones, that is) until Mother’s Day. I think I’m well enough today to go out and buy some flowers for my flower boxes. And maybe a tomato plant. It’s supposed to be very warm today, perhaps as hot as eighty degrees. But then it’s predicted the weekend will be chilly, back down into the sixties. That’s Minnesota in the spring.

The notated manuscript of Threadbare has gone back to my editor, who will look it over one last time, then send it to be printed. I think it’s a good story, and I hope my readers will agree when the book comes out in December.

Sorry about your cold. I hope it goes away fast.
