Conference Switch

The adrenalin rush from the Knit and Crochet Show has worn off and the adrenalin rush from the Writers Police Academy hasn't had a chance to kick in. Today was tranistion day. I had a class in double hook crochet and lunch with one of my crochet friends who'd come all the way from Alaska to Greensboroo. Then I moved on another hotel in another part of town.

I realized as I was walking into the new hotel, I was still wearing my badge from the crochet show. Now I have a new badge and a new tote bag. Instead of samples of Lions Brand yarn like the crochet one did, this one has a heavy hard bound catalog of criminal investigation products. I thumbed through it and along with yellow crime scene tape, there are things like evidence drying cabinets.

The new conference attendees got together to hear about our weekends, These workshops aren't about sitting and doing difficult crochet stitches. These workshops are all about touching, feeling and experiencing. After all the times I've had Molly Pink end up in handcuffs, I will actually get to try some on. Then there's the shallow grave murder scene, bugs, smells and all. There will be jail cells to search for contraband fire engines to climb on and all sorts of police equipment, including having a helicoper land nearby.

With all that coming up, all I can think of is bed. The buses leave for the workshop location at 7:30 on the dot.

i can't wait for tomorrow.

If Harry Houdini is not around, make sure someone has a key to those handcuffs, or you'll have to invent a method for crocheting with handcuffs on!

Enjoy!

That's what makes this job so much fun! We get to feed both sides of ourselves. Enjoy. Wish I was there.

How fun, Betty! Dare I ask what conference is next?

Just don't let them mix you up with the real criminals, Betty. Enjoy yourself, and learn lots@

Planner, I learned something interesting today. There is one key that fits all handcuffs.

Terri, it is fun to be able to come to this conference and have it considered as work.

Linda, it will be hard to top this weekend,

Jan, no real criminals. The conference is being held at a public safety school. So the arson fire, the murder scene and the jail were free of any evil doers.

So that's why you have a new key on your key ring!
