Time Out of Mind

I have totally lost track of time. I haven’t done any of my usual things this week. The kind of things that mark the day. Like on Mondays I usually go to a class that is half cycling and half weight. Tuesday is a cardio class. It suddenly hit me it is Thursday night and time to write my blog. And Sunday is my son’s wedding. And next Tuesday Behind the Seams is released and the paperback edition of You Better Knot Die comes out.

I have this problem. I live in the moment and tend to dismiss things in the far off future. But eventually the future becomes the present.

So I had to scramble and get the updates to my web guy. Thanks heavens he was Mr. Speedy and the updated version of www.BettyHechtman.com went public this morning.

Then it was time to focus on the wedding. My brother came in last night. I haven’t seen him in ten years. He’s not fond of traveling, so his going to all the trouble to fly cross country means even more. It is nice to have my family all together.

I know that the next two days will go by in a blur of final details and then all the months of planning will have turned into now.

Are you surprised when the future becomes the present?

Um, didn't the year just start?

Your updated website looks great, and I just read the excerpt from Behind the Seams. Can't wait to read more!

Say, maybe you should do a crochet demo at the wedding. (Sorry, Adele made me say that.)

Enjoy!

You really sound busy, Betty, with all the good stuff that's going on. Congrats on both the wedding and your new book release! I do identify with time getting away from me...

Time? What's that? Oh, it's what your "friends" try to talk you out of using for your own evil purposes so they can impose on you themselves, right? I hope you take some time for yourself once the wedding and the book launch and the visit from your brother are over. You deserve a breather, even if you have another deadline waiting to trip you up. (Which you always seem to have.)

Enjoy your family time, and congrats to Max, even though I've just heard about him from you rather than meeting him. If there's anything to this afterlife thing, you know Joan and Linda will be smiling on your family Sunday. Have fun!

Planner, I did wear a party scarf I had crocheted to the wedding. Adele would have been proud.

Linda, It is a lot to come at one time. The wedding is now over. Yay! I think a good time was had by all. At least, I'm sure they liked the food. We had it at Lawry's the Prime Rib.

JanG, thank you for the good wishes. Yes, I could do with a breather. I enjoyed just sitting in my yard this morning and not doing anything.

This morning, I saw your shiny new hardcover book at Barnes and Noble, Marina del Rey. The truly exciting part? All of the store's copies were on the end cap with the likes of Anne Perry, and both of you had 2 book holders (with three books each) directly at eye level. Yay! That means someone is promoting your books!

Are you planning on signing some books after the breather, and will you post a schedule?
