I'm Dreaming of a Warm Christmas

It’s cold here. Okay, maybe not back east sort of cold with winter coats and snow boots, but the wind is whipping and blowing through any cracks it can find. And I’m cold even though I’m wearing a turtle neck, a tee shirt and a vest.

Last week when I was in Chicago it was a whole other story. I needed a coat outside, but inside it was hot. If I was dressed like this, I would have been sweating. But then the building is insulated and the radiators chug with heat.

So, I’m not wishing for a white Christmas. No, I’m longing for a warm Christmas. And if the weather man is right, I’m going to get it. The highs over the weekend are supposed to be in the 70s.

Oh, I’m so looking forward to going outside and not shivering as I hang up laundry. I want to sit outside and drink my Christmas morning coffee and feel the warm sun.

Maybe even a walk in the mountains.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I'm staying home for the holidays, too, Betty, but I'm taking my husband to the airport on Christmas Day so he can spend part of the holiday on the family farm in Ohio. I just checked, and the temperature there is hovering around freezing. I'm glad I'll be in L.A.!

I'm with you, Betty! Warmth and sun are always welcome in my world. I have a friend in Australia who says her family always goes for a "Christmas swim" on the beach (it's their summer!). I think I need to visit Australia about now.

Linda, your husband's trip sounds picturesque, but I still vote for sunshine in my backyard.

Planner, I had the idea for a character who spent half the year in Australia and the other half here, so they never had to deal with short days and it was always spring and summer.

Betty, yes--eternal spring/summer...that is MY ultimate dream!

Always spring and summer . . . sounds delightful. But with mountains not too far distant, so if I got a taste for snow, I could just take a drive!

Monica, having the mountains with the option for snow would make it perfect.
