Next Tuesday

My favorite part is writing the books. I just close my eyes, cross my fingers and hope for the best when they come out. Maybe not totally just close my eyes and hope for the best. I have a few things planned when the paperback edition of Behind the Seams and the hardcover of If Hooks Could Kill comes out next Tuesday. I’m waiting for postcards from my publisher so I can send them out to 2000 yarn stores. With Sandy making a mess of Manhattan, I’m expecting a delay in receiving them.

Over the next few weeks, I will make my usual rounds to local bookstores and sign stock, along with leaving bookmarks. I’m guest blogging on Savvyauthors.com on Tuesday, November 6. The week of November 12, I’m going to guest blog on the Barnes & Noble Mystery blog and be the featured author all week. I did it last year and made friends with Becke Martin Davis, the moderator. It turns out we have a lot in common including both selling toys at Christmas in Chicago in our younger years.

Then on November 30, one of my characters will be guest blogging on Killercharacters.blogspot.com. I haven’t decided who I’m giving the floor to this time.

I’m giving a talk to a women’s group in December on how my life turned on a granny square. Who would have thought that a walk through a toy store would send my life in a new, wonderful direction?

Hmm. Now that I’ve written it all down, it sounds better than I thought. I still need to update my website with pictures of the crochet projects and an excerpt from If Hooks Could Kill.

Of course, meanwhile I’m trying to finish For Better or Worsted and waiting for my editors comments on Yarn to Go.

So much going on and it’s all exciting!

I can't wait to read "If Hooks Could Kill"! Only a few more days to wait.

Enjoy your blogging, signing, and postcarding. Another favorite thing has got to be hearing how readers enjoy your books!

Yes, Planner, it is always nice to hear that someone enjoys my books.

Two different books in the same series debuting (in different forms, of course) on the same day? How awesome, Betty! Congrats.

Thanks, Linda. Between election day and the mess back east, I don't know if anybody will notice.
