Wave Goodbye

I've never written under a pseudonym, but when the chance came to write something a little different, I jumped at it. And so, Dear Reader, I am now "Lila Dare."

Wave Goodbye is the fourth book in the Southern Beauty Shop Mystery Series. The protagonist is a spunky 30-something named Grace Ann Terhune. Since I really am a Southern girl at heart, I had lots of fun dredging up "southernisms" for this book. You can pre-order a copy here.

The release date is March 5, 2013, so I'll have books coming out in March, April (Death of a Dowager/Book #2 The Jane Eyre Chronicles), and May (Picture, Perfect, Corpse/Book #6 in the Kiki Lowenstein Mystery Series). I have to admit that I'm feeling a wee bit burned out!

Here's the official summary of the plot of Wave Goodbye:

St. Elizabeth, Georgia, offers charm, Southern hospitality—and the occasional murder. This time, when a new hair salon tries to steal business, it’s someone’s life that gets cut short…

Violetta’s salon is up in arms. Business is dead. Snippets, a big box haircutting chain, has opened in St. Elizabeth, undercutting prices and luring away loyal customers. Violetta’s daughter, hairdresser Grace Terhune, is shocked to discover that it’s her old high school rival Lisa Butterworth who’s behind the big sweep—and Grace isn’t going to take this sitting down. Snippets’ cold-blooded prized manager is doing wonders with Violetta’s client list. According to Lisa, it’s just business—until a bitter confrontation leaves Grace more than frustrated, and Lisa less than alive. Now Grace is the prime suspect in her rival’s murder. And only her friends at Violetta’s can save her—before the charge proves permanent.

How fun that you're writing yet another series, Joanna... or should I say Lila?!

Joanna,

I have not idea where you find the time.

Kristopher, I love what I do--and mostly it gives me the energy to do more. Many hugs to you (and yours)!

Linda, I don't feel like a "Lila" but maybe it will grow on me.

Betty, I'm hoping I can write off beauty treatments on my IRS forms.
