Good-Bye and a Contest for Comments

For years now, I've spent every Sunday night prepping a post for this blog. And this is the hardest post I've ever written, because this is the post where I say, "Good-bye."

But here it is...nearly five years and 2,000 posts from when Deb Baker and I launched Killer Hobbies, and it's time for me to move on. When I reflect on this venture, I am most grateful for the wonderful friends I've made. Without this blog, I might never have gotten to know Monica, Betty, and Linda.

And many of you, too.

How ironic. My next book, to be released in March, will be Wave Good-Bye--and here I am, saying, "Good-bye." Somehow, I think "Blogger" knows it's good-bye, too, because it's locking up every other word!

My new blogging "home" is http://www.JoannaSlan.blogspot.com

Give me some advice: What do you like to read in an author's blog?

I'll choose three comments to win advance copies of Wave Good-Bye.

Wishing you the best of adventures, success and wonderful blogging. I enjoy reading about an author's travels, research and their favorite books and foods.

I like to read about *that* author's books (of course), and other books in the same vein, and in your case I'd love to read about Zentangles and scrapbooking and Jane Eyre. Your books have made me curious!

Farewell, but not goodbye, for although I'll miss you from this blog, I'm sure I'll see you again. As for what I look for in authors blogs...Honestly, I follow so many group blogs and Facebook posts, I don't generally read individual author blogs. There's just not enough time. But I enjoy glimpses into your world and I guess that's what I look for...and recipes!

Well, Kat, you'd enjoy my newest Kiki Lowenstein short story. I'm working on "Kiki Lowenstein and the Soldier's Gift" right now--and it has great recipes and foodie tips.

I like to read about what the author is currently writing. In addition, I like to see about appearances the author makes or what blog tour she is doing. When an author has a pseudonym,as you do, I also like knowing about those books. It's fun to check out all the series.

Learning more about your books and how you decided what to write.

llk 10 retired, you know, I'm not entirely sure what my writing plans are for the year, so that would be good to share as I learn them.

Joanna Campbell Slan said...

traveler, good to know that also interests you.

petite, good question. What I'll write this year will be determined by a lot of factors. I guess it makes sense that readers would be interested in knowing how I decide what to do!
