More About Changes

When Joanna announced she was leaving our blog, I volunteered to take the responsibility for keeping it current. You might notice the blog is a little out of date. The photographs still include Joanna and Mollie, both no longer on Killerhobbies. And don’t include Chrystle Fielder who is going to be joining us, hopefully starting next Monday.

I thought it would be easy. That I’d just have to go behind the scenes and tinker around a little and I’d figure out how to change the pictures and the slide show of book covers. Not exactly. I watched a YouTube video on setting up a blog. Fine if you want to set one up, not helpful if you’re trying to update one.

I spent a couple of hours going in circles and discovered that the photographs of the Killerhobbies bloggers is really one image and so far impossible to edit. And so far impossible to recreate. I did get a clue from my crochet friend Linda. She said the photo was probably done in layers. It appears I need some kind of photo editing software to do that kind of image. I’m still figuring that part out.

I had more luck with the moving bookcovers. I discovered they were uploaded from a file on a photo storing site. Now, if I can just make a new file with our current bookcovers.

So, the blog will be updated and kept current, once I get this all figured out. Stay tuned.

I thank and applaud you, Betty, for taking this on. And I also look forward to Chrystle's joining us.

Just a thought. My kids all set up web pages when they were in high school ;) - why not call your local high school and speak with the computer teacher. See if the teacher can recommend a reliable computer expert who could help you for a reasonable price. Our church website is kept updated by a 16 year old. They are just born with these skills!

Nothing involving computers ever seems to be easy--at least not at first!

I think it's great that you took this on. Once you get past the couple of tricky issues, things will go more smoothly. Good luck!
