Starting My New Year

Well, my 2013 began interestingly.

I toasted it at midnight LA time, and went to bed soon thereafter.  I was awakened in the wee hours by my younger son calling to say he was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.  He has a peanut allergy and, despite how careful he always is, he had inadvertently eaten something that had peanut oil in it.

Fortunately, he was fine but he was kept under observation for a few hours, and I of course was there with him.

Afterward, when he was okay and released from the hospital, I drove him home.  I then went to a planned party at some good friends’ place, so my New Year’s Day wasn’t all excitement and worry.

I didn’t get everything done that I’d hoped to, but the main thing was that my son was fine, and I then spent time with friends.   Family and friends are what matter most.

And besides, I now have the rest of the year to accomplish what I started out to do.   Well... okay.  I do have deadlines.  But I’ll manage them somehow.

How did your 2013 start?   Not as dramatically as mine, I hope!

Glad your son is okay. My new years eve was a sushi dinner followed by crocheting the project I needed for my manuscript that was due today.

How scary; I'm glad he's okay.

And Betty, did you really have a January 2 deadline! I'll stop complaining about my Feb 1 one!

Happy new year to all Killer Hobby friends!

Thanks, Betty. And a writing deadline of Jan. 2 is daunting enough without also having to finish a crocheting project!

Thank you, too, Camille. And, yes, it was scary.

Good luck with your Feb. 1 deadline!
