Lots of Good Stuff

I turned in three guest posts to the Berkley publicist to use in promoting the release of KNOT GUILTY and the papeback edition of FOR BETTER OR WORSTED. I have one more guest post to write for Dru’s Musings and I’m done.

At the same time, my editor sent me the cover copy for the next Yarn Retreat mystery, Wound Up in Murder. It is always fun to see what the clever crew that does cover copy comes up with. Also included were snippets of reviews. I never keep up with reviews of my books and it was nice surprise to see all the good ones.

I had more good news from my agent. The Mystery Guild Book Club is going to have KNOT GUILTY as their featured alternative. I remember belonging to the Mystery Guild Book Club and I never dreamed that someday they’d be offering a book I wrote.

This Saturday I’m going to be signing books from 1:00 to 1:30 at the Yarnosphere Yarn Show. It’s being held in Long Beach this year at ...... It’s grown a lot since their first year last year.

I guess I have been in La La land because until it hit October I kept thinking the release of KNOT GUILTY was a long way off. Now suddenly I realize it is coming out next month. I have to update my website, get bookmarks and try to do the newsletter I keep talking about doing.

Actually it isn’t so strange that I haven’t noticed the passage of time. It has been very warm and summer like, hardly what you think of for September. And now that’s it’s October, it got even hotter.

I just went to Costco and was shocked to see the Christmas stuff when I am just beginning to buy Halloween candy. We get hundreds of kids, so I don’t buy the candy all at the same time. I just start accumulating the giants bags every time I go to Costco.

The year is catching up with me and if I’m going to make Christmas presents I better get going. Also I need to get writing the next crochet book. I am in the synopsis stage now which means lots of notes and some research. So much to think about.

You certainly have a lot going on as usual, Betty! I'm looking forward to reading Knot Guilty. Your characters have become good friends, and I can't wait to catch up with what they've been up to since last year.

Where exactly is the Yarnosphere Yarn Show? It sounds like fun.

Sounds like a lot of good stuff going on with your writing, Betty. Congrats! And where I live, we hardly ever get any trick-or-treaters.

Planner, the show is in an area of Long Beach called Bixby Knolls at the Arts Expo Center. The 4321 Atlantic Ave. That's all I know for now. I'm going to have to use mapquest to find the directions.

Linda, we have always gotten a fair number of trick or treaters, but when Our neighbors turned their front yard into an amazing attraction (like as good as the kind people pay money for), the number of kids has doubled. I end up getting about four of the huge bags at Costco. Of course some of it goes MIA before the kids arrive.

You are a very busy lady!
It all sounds good though.

We have not had trick or treaters in ten years. Organized events are becoming more popular. I am glad I was young when I was.
