Plotting to Kill -- Again

As I've mentioned here before, maybe too often, I'm writing four series concurrently--two romance and two mystery.  Things seem to be moving right along, which is a good thing.

I just finished the edits on my first Barkery and Biscuits Mystery BITE THE BISCUIT, which will be a May release. I'm also glad that the next thing I need to write is its sequel, number two in the series. I had a general idea before about what would happen and now I'm actually plotting it. Of course someone gets murdered--it's a cozy mystery.  I'm fairly sure I know now who I'm going to kill--or, rather, have one of my characters kill. I'm not certain yet who'll do the foul deed, but I'm relatively certain who'll be the suspect whom my protagonist, Carrie Kennersly, will need to clear.

Unsurprisingly, Carrie's a pet lover, especially dogs.  She's a veterinary technician, and she's also bought a bakery in the small mountain town of Knobcone Heights, California, and has turned half of it into a barkery to bake and sell dog treats.  The murder victim is going to be doing something that harms dogs, so of course something bad needs to happen to her.

Oh, yes.  In case you can't tell, my mind is churning.  I have note cards in various locations in my house and in my purse so I can make notes as ideas come to me, if I'm not near my computer.  And you know what?  Plotting is fun!

Do you plot, either for writing or other things that happen in your life?  Do you enjoy it?

By the way, my blog post last week was on the weather.  Groundhog Day was two days ago, and unsurprisingly Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so winter will last for six more weeks.  But I admit to being a bit surprised to see clips on TV of a groundhog who wasn't Phil bite a mayor's ear when asked whether he'd seen his shadow!

Your plan of notecards in various spots sounds like a good idea. I tend to write things on pieces of paper that then get lost.

Great cover!
