And The Winners Are...

I picked three random numbers and then matched them up with the comments left on my blog. And the winners of the copies of KNOT GUILTY are: Jamie Ledford, Nancy, and Nora Helma.

I am down to the wire on the edits for HOOKING FOR TROUBLE. It’s already up on Amazon which seems so strange because the SEAMS LIKE MURDER, the book that precedes it doesn’t come out until May.

Outside the wind is blowing stirring up the bad kind of ions. The orange trees are shaking and I can hear the fronds on our palm tree making creaky sounds. My window is open and I’ve been hearing sirens in the distance. A fire perhaps made worse by the wind.

Earlier today, it was warm and wonderful, but now that it’s dark ,the air had cooled and it seems jittery. It feels strange and unsettling. Time is going by so fast, I can’t hang onto the minutes before they turn into hours and then its late and I still have so much more to do.

As I go through HOOKING FOR TROUBLE I am tweaking and trying to make sure it all makes sense. I like the story. I was trying to explain today how the ending has a twist that I didn’t realize was there until after I’d writtenit. In other words, it wasn’t planned, the characters did it on their own.

It probably sounds crazy, but after eleven books, the characters seem to have a life of their own. They always surprise me.

I always get a little sad when I get to the end of a manuscript. There is the relief of making my deadline, but then I have to leave this world I created and deal full time with the real one.

As a final note, I am hoping my blog sister, Monica has a speedy recovery.

I always think it's so fun when characters tell me what they want to do, Betty, even if I thought things would work differently. I hope you enjoy it, too!
