Year End Edits

I anticipated being busy with my writing around now because I have a January 1 deadline for the manuscript of my first K-9 Ranch story for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.  However, I hadn't factored in the very quick timing for the edits for my Alpha Force Harlequin Nocturne paranormal romance PROTECTOR WOLF, the eighth in the series.  (The seventh was CANADIAN WOLF, so I'm posting the cover here to have a graphic this week!)  I received the comments on PROTECTOR WOLF last week, and my revisions were due yesterday.

And did I do it? Yes!  I also asked for a slight extension for the K-9 manuscript though I wasn't sure I needed it, but I received it anyway.  And guess what.  I already received the next go-around on my Nocturne, due back quickly, so I suspect that extension will really help!

So, yes, my holiday season is even busier than I'd figured on. But so far it's been fun and should continue that way.  I'm going to a party today--the alumni association of my old employer Union Oil Company.  Then, this weekend, the local chapter of Mystery Writers of America is having a party.  I attended the party for the local Sisters in Crime chapter last week, plus had dear friends visiting, and more to come...

And yes, there's that looming deadline, and there will be more of those next year.  All good!

Hope you're enjoying your last weeks of 2016, too.

It is funny how there always seem to be writer deadlines around the holidays. It is good that you are managing them so well.
