Explanation and Earnestness

My last three posts were short and not very sweet.

Plus, they didn't tell the entire story.

Yes, I'm still working on the manuscript I talked about there.  I knew then that I wouldn't meet my deadline thanks to several reasons.  I'm still not sure how long my extension is.

Also, yesterday was the first day of my Great Escapes Virtual Blog Tour for Pick and Chews, my fourth Barkery & Biscuits Mystery.  It runs for a couple of weeks and consists mostly of reviews and spotlights, and guest posts and interviews both of me and some of my characters.  Fun!

In addition to all that, I had a vacation of nearly two weeks, where, with family and friends, I took a cruise to Key West and to Havana, Cuba--a fascinating place to sightsee.  On our return to the States, we visited Disney Animal Kingdom.  As an addicted animal lover, I found it amazing and delightful.

And on our way home, we stopped to visit more family, including the grandkids.

On top of all that, I've had something like the flu for going on a month.  I think it's finally easing up a bit--or at least I hope so.  But it's certainly not helped me work as hard as I'd like on that manuscript.

Anyway, I'm home now, feeling a bit better, and, yes, digging in to that manuscript!
