On Vacation

While I have internet access (looks like another storm is coming through), I decided to sit down and write my blog post. I had meant to schedule one last week, but as I needed to get a book turned back in before we left for vacation, that took most of my time and brain power.

This week my husband and I are on our first trip of the year. We were excited to be getting up into the mountains of Virginia for some outdoor activities and crafting time (golf for him, crafting for me), and to visit a few wineries. The biggest draw for this week was a beer and wine fest that the resort hosts every year. We had a great time even though everyone had to go inside for a portion of the event because of thunderstorms. Thunderstorms have kind of been a theme for this vacation.

We arrived Saturday and Tuesday was the first day it didn't rain so we took advantage of it and went on a hike, and also husband did some golfing while I took a paint and sip class at the resort. My husband hasn't been able to do as much golfing because of the storms, but we've been making the best of it by visiting some indoor flea markets on Sunday and taking some time to just relax. We're usually on the go when we vacation so it's been a nice change to just sit and relax. This vacation, we've had to have more of a go with the flow option...easier to do when there are only two people.

We're hoping the weather holds out to go on a scenic chairlift ride and picnic but it's looking like we're going to have to switch plans for the day. There are two new wineries, two that weren't in the area the last time we visiting, and they're are on our list of alternate plans or maybe even the caverns depending how far of a drive as we're going to a murder mystery dinner theater tonight.
