The last great book I read that just refused to be put down was Max Zimmer's Journey (If Where You're Going Isn't Home). The first book in a trilogy that tells the story of a teenage Mormon boy coming of age in 1960's Utah. The main character is so relatable and his story so engrossing that I found myself thinking about it almost every day for weeks. My highest recommendation of the year.
http://maxzimmer.com/the-trilogy/William Starknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-3573714120917515652013-04-26T12:36:16.365-04:002013-04-26T12:36:16.365-04:00Anne, this was unanimously enjoyed by our book clu...Anne, this was unanimously enjoyed by our book club- a first! When I do make time and find a really great piece of fiction, it is simultaneously inspiring and stimulating...and
very humbling. But necessary, like
taking vitamins. Another great book I read recently is State of Wonder by Ann Patchet. Would recomment that as well.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04152472797414184519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-84619995026535631652013-04-26T04:24:51.580-04:002013-04-26T04:24:51.580-04:00I, too, have a hard time reading fiction, particul...I, too, have a hard time reading fiction, particulary mysteries, when I'm writing - which now seems to be all the time.Betty Hechtmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14652848311122102223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-36097684758902944582013-04-25T21:03:35.947-04:002013-04-25T21:03:35.947-04:00That does sound like a good book, Anne.
