I tried to imitate his call, and he flew over to sit on a low branch of a small tree and sang just the first phrase of his song. I whistled it back to him, and he sang it again. When he was satisfied I had it right, he sang the first two phrases - and so on, until he had taught me his entire song. For years after, I could get robins to sing back to me by whistling that song. It was a marvelous, mysterious experience I will never forget.Monica Ferrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03722045113589668612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-69351018751104040372012-04-18T16:33:21.300-04:002012-04-18T16:33:21.300-04:00My dogs definitely notice, Betty. In both cases, my pets didn't seem to notice.

Your parrot story reminded me of when I went into the Lorakeet aviary at the Long Beach Aquarium. It's supposed to be a fun time feeding the birds. Ha! They ended up pecking at me like the parrot did to you.Betty Hechtmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14652848311122102223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-60912098228665275672012-04-18T10:34:25.682-04:002012-04-18T10:34:25.682-04:00Cardinals really are beautiful, Mollie.
