I also saw a green American anole today. They've almost been extinguished by the non-native, invasive Cuban brown anoles, so I was really thrilled to see a bright green fellow running in my hibiscus.Joanna Campbell Slanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01951637123269159053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-73966918523018451342011-02-08T21:49:23.346-05:002011-02-08T21:49:23.346-05:00Betty, I'm worried that it got too cold for th...Betty, I'm worried that it got too cold for them. There was one that seemed to wait for me every morning in the shower. But the eggs we found never hatched. Oh, none ever crawled over my face, but they all ate the bugs that annoyed us. In fact, we spent many evenings just watching the geckos cling to the window screens and hunting down bugs. I have fond memories of those critters.NL Gasserthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11601313602009358600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-56002152803398868652011-02-07T12:31:48.970-05:002011-02-07T12:31:48.970-05:00Good to try and save them, but that is still just ...Good to try and save them, but that is still just totally creepy!signlady217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-66570306037980368302011-02-07T12:08:02.873-05:002011-02-07T12:08:02.873-05:00Monica, I'll be sure to ask my hatchlings for ...Monica, I'll be sure to ask my hatchlings for the "good sport" discount!Joanna Campbell Slanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01951637123269159053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7731159552335760887.post-11189112283385589892011-02-07T12:07:35.025-05:002011-02-07T12:07:35.025-05:00Linda, I love the line from Cross Creek by Marjori...Linda, I love the line from Cross Creek by Marjorie Kinan Rawlings about how the land belongs to the birds and the animals and the trees, not to us.
