Yay Crochet!

It's national crochet month, so I finally have gotten back to it.  My former craft room became Jakey's  pad and all my yarn. hooks, etc got moved around.  I knew where everything was and now I don't which was an obstacle to starting to work on something.

I finally decided to start with small pieces from a book I got that has pattern for fun little items.  Then I had to locate the yarn that I had gotten to make such items.  I had put the package of small amounts of different colored yarn in a plastic box which I had to hunt down since someone else moved it.

At last I had everything together and started to started to make some small items.  It felt good to be using a hook again.

I want to work on a knitting project, but I'll have to start by finding my knitting needles.

The confusion is worth it as Jakey loves his pad.  He's at the age where his space is his world.  When he is here, he only comes out when he's hungry and even that he often takes care of himself.

For now, my craft spot is the living room and I'm confident that I will figure out where all my stuff is.  I am glad that I can adapt.

Good morning -- I'd forgotten that March is National Crochet Month. I'm doing my usual blankets -- working on a ripple now, which is one of my favorites. Amazing how quickly it works up. If you don't write more Molly books, maybe you can start a series with knitters, though Adele might haunt your dreams about that!! What knitting project are you planning? I make one knitted thing -- a scarf which is a very simple pattern -- a one-row repeat. I've been using the pattern for about 60 years!!

I remember when my son was Jakey's age -- he lived in his room. He's always enjoyed listening to music and had a huge collection of records and discs -- still does. Now he's 65 years old -- how time does fly.

The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous -- bright blue, cloudless skies and warm temperatures. My 22 potted plants on the patio are thriving. The flower stalks on several aloes seem to grow several inches a day.

Enjoy your day, your crocheting and your knitting, when you find your needles!!

I ordered "Random Acts of Crochet Kindness" and am going to attach a little flower or heart to each blanket I make for the cancer treatment center. Might even make some of the flowers larger and attach them across the top border of a blanket. Lots of possibilities.

Patty, It seems like every month is National Crochet Month for you with all the blankets you turn out. I have some yarn with patterns left from a yarn show I went to years ago. The one I have my eye on is for a shawl and very easy. Your scarf pattern sounds relaxing to work on.

How times change. There is actually an old record player in Jakey's room. I doubt he would even know what it was. You are right that times flies.

Enjoy your weather! The peach tree is blooming and the pink jasmine plant I got last year is covered with flowers and filling the air with its scent. The blossoms on the orange trees are about to pop. Inside, my azalea plant is still covered with flowers. It makes me think about my mother the first blossom opened on her birthday.

Adding a little heart or flower to the blankets is a great idea. It's a fun book. Also, it has the best instruction on how to make a magic circle.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hello ! I am sending two little projects your way . They are from TEMU--I know some people like the company and some don't, but I am a big fan myself. I use them constantly for sewing notions and trims for the little dresses that go to Africa. These are just too cute, and I don't know anyone else with the skill to make them. They will probably take about two weeks to sail over from China !

We're starting a big project here and I have to relocate my yarn stash and clean out two big closets. I know I will like the results but actually doing it is tough. I am keeping my eye on the end result though. A dedicated TV room with recliners for me and my husband. We're going old-school. Drink holders in the chairs and all. :)

Linda -- How was the craft show?

Patty: Thank you for asking . It was fantastic ! Usually the Spring shows are not as profitable as Christmas of course, but this one was terrific. So many nice people that I had not seen in over two years were there. Many of my cloth doll creations, baby blankets, and toddler dresses found new homes. I hope to do the fall show , now that I have convined my daughter I can do it ! I am housebound most of the time, so this was a good mental health break !

Linda Osborn, Thank you in advance. It's so thoughtful of you. I am so happy that the craft show went well. You deserve a million pats on the back for making it happen. And now you can look forward to doing it again.

I am so happy you found time to pick up crochet again. I always enjoy my crochet and knit time.

Sally, It sounds like a good plan to keep your eye on the end results. I bet you and your husband will get a lot of enjoyment out of having those chairs with cup holders.

Miriam, I'm glad too. It is such a good feeling to look at something and know that I made it.

Sounds as if you're having fun celebrating crocheting, wherever you're able to store your supplies. Enjoy, Betty!
