You might be able to tell that I went to a movie yesterday, since I’m really late posting here today. I usually write my Killer Hobbies posts on Tuesday, but when I’m distracted by a movie I sometimes forget—like yesterday. We get a discount on Tuesdays, so that often leads to our heading to an afternoon movie. Anyway, sorry I’m late today.
The movie? The new Superman! I
really enjoyed it and its special effects—most particularly the dog Krypto who kept
attacking and saving his buddy Superman. He was partly real and apparently
partly AI. Yes, he flew, as did Superman. And one of the things that was also
fun is that I kept seeing online that the new Superman star, David Corenswet,
has his own ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ira, whom he brought sometimes
to the set as they were filming and had Ira dress in a cape like Superman. Ira
resembles our younger pup Roxie. I posted
a picture of them on my Facebook page.
Did some edits this week on another of
my Alpha Force books being republished as an ebook soon, as most of them have
been now. Shapeshifters in a special military unit!
But I’m now back to my regular
writing. And playing with my dogs, of course.
I'll have to check that one out. I love going to a theater to see a good movie in the summer. I used to take my kids almost every week during summer to calm them down and keep them cool.
ReplyDeleteIt is beastly hot and humid here today. I'll have to check for a Tuesday though because that is the $5 day here. Cheers for a good week.
I think Superman would be a fun movie for kids with all its adventure, special effects--and dog! And this time, although I brought my sweater to the theater as I usually do because they overdo the AC, I stayed comfortable without it. Have fun whichever movie you choose if you decide to go, stay as cool as you want to, and have a good week, Sally!
ReplyDeleteI just now realized it is Wednesday -- this week has been wretched -- we had a death in the family and everything is sort of helter-skelter. We're doing ok and will get through it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the movie -- the bits I've seen on the tv ads look like fun. I always take a sweater, too -- theaters are usually icy.
My daughter is having the DNA of her dogs tested -- they are a mixture -- she thinks they are mostly dachshund and beagle. Should take a couple of weeks to get the results.
Enjoy your writing and your pups.
So sorry about the death in your family, Patty. Glad you're doing okay, but I'm sure it's difficult.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be fun to hear what your daughter hears about her dogs' backgrounds. Hope you let us know!
Take good care of yourself.
