A Sunday chuckle

Today's cryptoquote from my husband:

Once you can accept the universe as Matter expanding into Nothing that is Something, wearing stripes with plaids comes easy.

Too nerdy? Now you have a glimpse into the marriage between a physicist and an engineer.

Hmmm. We've got a lawyer/writer and engineer in our household, Camille. Haven't had as colorful a quote lately, but our minds do seem to go in very different directions!

I teach a class called "how to live with an engineer" -- it's a thinly disguised informal logic class!

I think an engineer would lose his or her mind after spending five minutes in my chaotic household.

I was educated as a physicist, but have (after many years) decided I'm more of an engineer.

You can think of the two words as conjoined twins. It's just that the engineering twin prefers doing things with hands, while the scientist twin prefers thought. Most of us technophiles have aspects of both, We decide our placement by which we enjoy more - hands or thought.

Nicely put, Ellen. One of my favorite quotes: Scientists seek to dispel ignorance; engineers seek to skirt it.
