Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day.  It's also the first full day of Hanukkah, and it's a very rare occurrence to have these two holidays meet.  Some theorize it won't happen again for tens of thousands of years.

In any event, I'll be cooking a Thanksgiving turkey and more for my husband and younger son, plus a couple of neighbors who don't have local families.  Over the years, we've gotten into the fun habit of inviting others whenever possible.  We've welcomed family, yes, but also friends and neighbors, and it's always been fun.

And, yes, I'm cooking.  I'm anything but a gourmet cook, but I do know how to stuff and roast a turkey plus put together standard kinds of trimmings.

It'll be a day when my writing will have to take second place to food preparation, serving and eating, but I've been planning for it--despite my looming December 1 manuscript deadline.  If I get an opportunity while things are cooking, I'll head for the computer.  If my pups let me.  They may be driven crazy by the aroma of foods cooking all day, so they'll demand more attention.  As if they don't already demand attention nearly every moment of the day!

So...I hope you and your family--human and fur-friends--have a wonderful holiday.  Happy Thanksgiving.  Happy Hanukkah.  And Happy Thanksgivukkah!

What a combination of food holidays - potato pancakes and turkey!

I have a December 1 deadline, too. Hopefully, I'll get an extension.

Yum! And fortunately, I'm close to finishing my story. Don't want to ask for an extension for the first book with a new publisher!
