Another surprise was that Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is around the corner. Every day is so full of activity that it seems to be over before I know it. The holidays coming make me think of how the holidays used to be. In the days before people ate turkey all the time, so that not having turkey was more of a treat, when everybody wasn’t working so much so they had time to cook, and when the main event was dinner not planning your shopping strategy.
It fascinates me to see how the world has changed. It also makes me wonder what other changes are in store. Will someone look back to our now and think it was sleepy in comparison to how things are? It is hard for me to imagine a much more frantic pace, but then when TV went off the air at midnight, I’m sure people couldn’t imagine the concept of it being on 24/7 or that there would be so many choices of what to watch on so many different devices.
But being thankful never goes out of fashion. Personally, I like to extend the feeling of gratitude to everyday instead of saving it for once a year. And peace on earth and good will to men – I think that belongs everyday as well
HOOKING FOR TROUBLE is on the shelves now, so I’m going to make the rounds again and sign books. I will get my website updated finally, and I have already started writing something else. I am determined to finish all of the unfinished knit and crochet projects sitting around my house and take some time to read something someone else wrote.
Life is good.

Your comments are right on target. We all need to slow down, and be thankful for all we have. Spend time with those you love, and be sure to add a baby boy gift to the celebration this year. We never know what tomorrow will bring, so enjoy each day to the fullest !
Congrats on making your deadline, Betty. And I can identify with losing track of time while working on a book. I like your suggestion of thinking back to times before now when things were so different. And, yes, they'll continue to morph as time goes on.
ldosborn, I am looking forward to a relaxed Thanksgiving meal. We have gone to the same restaurant for the past couple of years. It's right on the water in Malibu and we look for dolphins and watch the sunset. And the food is great. It's served buffet style and has something to please everyone including vegetarian me.
