I thought I was long past the stage where I wanted to have another baby. Six years ago, when I held my granddaughter in my arms, I was overcome with emotion. But I didn’t experience that overpower desire to have one of my own again. Sure, I cooed and marveled, but I didn’t feel that primal urge to crank out another. And, when the tiny bundle began crying, I handed her smugly back to mom with a vivid sense of relief.
But I've decided that I want another baby. And I’m going to have a girl.
I’ve been promised that she won’t cry or wet her pants or have to be nursed. Because she isn't real! She will be a silicone/vinyl baby with a cloth body sculpted by the talented, award-winner Marita Winters. The precious doll in this picture is a one-off, which is something like a limited edition, meaning she’ll never be made again.

I haven’t held one of Marita’s babies yet, but I know I’ll have to have one! Check out more at Winters Whimsies

Awww...cute! I once had a friend who had a "flat cat" instead of a real one--it was also cute, but not cuddly! Somewhere I heard you could also get a "flat boyfriend"...er...not sure if that would be much fun, lol!
I've seen ads for these amazingly-lifelike infants -- but I haven't ever wanted one. It would seem too cruel to stick it in a lighted cabinet, never cuddle or play with it; but on the other hand, they are too expensive to leave around the house where the cat might also want a turn playing with it. There's probably a compromise somewhere in there, but taking a look at my littered desk tells me I might make it, but wouldn't keep it.
I'm sold! In fact this is the first time I've ever wanted a baby (I don't have any organic ones) ... ! What will you name her?
Sofie. My new baby will be called Sofie.
How adorable, Deb! Of course, my pup Lexie takes the place of a baby in my otherwise empty nest.

You know me ... no pets, plants, or kids under voting age, so Sofie is perfect!
