Today is my regular blog day. My mind has flipped around all sorts of topics.
Should I write about all the short deadlines I’m under? One down and two to go by mid-August. I just sent in the changes to my copyedited manuscript for a Nocturne Bites, but I have a full length Harlequin Nocturne in my Alpha Force miniseries to finish as well as another Bites to write—also Alpha Force, starring a super-secret military unit of shapeshifters.
Or should I write about leisure time and entertainment? I saw a delightful live show the other night with singing and dancing to songs from all eras from the 1940s to the present. Lots of fun—and it gave me lots to think about regarding what music I like and why.
My dogs are always a great topic of conversation. My older Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Lexie recently got her first real haircut ever to make it easier for her to deal with summer temperatures, and she seems to love it! Mystie just got one of her regular trims and she’s as cute and fuzzy as ever.
Or---
Well, I’ve got other ideas, but those are the ones that come to mind first. How about you? Any thoughts about what you’d like to see me write about next week?
If you blog, how do you decide what topic to blog about next?

It is hard coming up with a blog topic. If I did something exciting that day, then I have a blog topic, if not, I tend to ramble and I find those are some of my best blog posts.
I write 2 blogs. One, Ratkins Deux the World, is a travel blog with Amelia and Cabot Ratkins, two plush rats. They go traveling and have pictures taken with them and the sites along with descriptions and history. The second is my personal blog, Katreader's Rat's Nest: A place of great clutter. Here I write about anything that strikes my fancy. I try to post something everyday, but sometimes that's tough. I do a few things to make it easier-I have Photo Phriday. Each Friday I post a picture I've taken that day. When I have nothing to say, or am short on time, I'll share music or a video from Youtube. Yesterday I wrote about a favorite blog while today I wrote about a horrific crash that occurred nearby yesterday. My most common tag, however, is "animals"!
Interesting, Dru, that your rambles tend to be your best blogs. Exciting stuff going on doesn't necessarily lead to exciting blog posts, I suppose.
I love the idea of your plush rats traveling and blogging, Katreader. I admire your attempting to blog every day on your other blog, too. I guest blog here and there and have a once-a-month day on A Slice of Orange, but otherwise blogging once a week here at Killer Hobbies seems enough. Sorry about that horrific crash--and I certainly identify with "animals!"
