Behind the Scenes of Behind the Seams
It’s time to get bookmarks made for Behind the Seams. It comes out in November along with the mass market version of You Better Knot Die. I have been so focused on writing my seventh book, I just put the two releases in the part of my mind marked “future.” But there’s this thing about the future I always seem to forget. Eventually it becomes the present.
So now it is hustle and hurry to write the back copy for the bookmarks and then get them to Arnold, the wonderful printer Linda recommended. I want them ready for me to take to the Fall Knit and Crochet Show and the Writers Police Academy.
I’m going to donate a couple of ARC (advanced readers copies) of Behind the Seams to the Knit and Crochet Show silent auction.
I love the cover of Behind the Seams. The art department always manages a little sinister touch. Can you find it on the Behind the Seams cover?

Beautiful! And a little creepy. Perfect.
The end of the crochet thread looks somewhat like a snake head about to bite the doll. It is a very neat cover.
The last few years of book covers have been really well done for most mystery authors, IMHO. I do not care for the cartoon-looking covers at all, too juvenile oriented.
Love your cover, Betty. I'm always so pleased with what the art department does with my covers, too.
Love the cover.
Carol, you're right. The red yarn has a snake head. I think Berkley does a great job with covers.
There's no head on the doll. Maybe someone cut it off.
Terry P., I laughed out loud when I read your comment.
I noticed the angles of the bookcases, which seemed ready to fall on anyone foolish enough to enter the room, and the fact that no one was there. All the covers have been great.
Knitters who don't crochet may think the crochet hooks look sinister!
The Vanna White endorsement is really cool!
Congrats! It looks beautiful. Can't wait to go "behind the seams"!
Jan, you're right the angleof the bookcases is a little creepy.
Planner, hooks could certainly be a mystery to some knitters.
I have loved this series ever since I discovered it right after the first book was published. I was thrilled beyond belief to be at the CGOA yarn winding booth at Chain Link in Minnneapolis in July when Betty came back to the booth to pick up the yarn she was having wound. I was so excited to meet her! Now I can't believe I get to spend more time with her at Professional Development Day at Chain Link in Greensboro in just a few short weeks.
I can't wait until Behind the Seams is available to download to Kindle for my iPad.
Amy, it was a pleasure meeting you, too. I look forward to see you in Greensboro.
I am so excited to have a timeframe for the new book. I raced through the others as soon as a discovered the series. I can't wait for the next one!
