We’re a
week into May now, and that means that the second Read Humane® program is well
underway!
My third
Pet Rescue Mystery HOUNDS ABOUND was chosen as part of Read Humane this
year. Last year, the first Pet Rescue
Mystery, BEAGLEMANIA, was part of the first Read Humane program.
I couldn’t
be prouder to be one of the participants... again!
Read Humane
was started by the Penguin Group USA to celebrate the Humane Association of the
United States ,
both by reprinting some of the books involving animals that it published and
putting a special Read Humane symbol on them, as well as making a substantial
donation to the HSUS to help support its Animal Rescue Team. The Animal Rescue Team works with law
enforcement to investigate situations of animal cruelty and abuse.
If you’d
like to read more about it, check this out:

How about
you--do you Read Humane? Do you despise
animal abuse and support special care of needy creatures? I do!

I have just recently been reading about Read Humane. What a great idea. Congratulations on having your books chosen. All the animals I have or had in the past are rescue animals of some sort.
How wonderful that your books were chosen, Linda. It is definitely something to be proud of.
How wonderful! I wish my publisher was doing this as I have a rescue theme in my books and have a rescue doxie and brother and sister kitties. Good for you and good for the animals!
The dog is my photo is Wallander, my rescue dachshund from All American Dachshund Rescue, a great organization in TN.
Thanks, lik 10 retired, and hugs to your rescue animals!
I definitely am proud, Betty.
Rescue animals in books and real life are wonderful, Chrystle! Wallender is a cutie.
