Blogging Slowdown - For Now
As you probably know if you saw my post here a couple of weeks ago, for the
past three weeks I've been on a wonderful blog tour to promote my latest Pet
Rescue Mystery, TEACUP TURBULENCE.
Now my tour is over. I'm still
blogging--at Fresh Fiction and Rocco's blog next week, and of course here at
Killer Hobbies. I'm now a regular on
three--yes, count them, three--other blog sites as well: Killer Characters on
the 18th of every month, on the 6th of every
month at A Slice of Orange, the blog site of the Orange County Chapter
of Romance Writers of America, plus most likely monthly on InkSpot, the blog
for Midnight Ink authors.
But the condensed and intense blog tour that included interviews, guest
blogs, reviews and more, has ended. I
was fortunate enough to have a tour set up by Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours,
and I'm a sponsor of Great Escapes for this month as well. I hope to do another tour with them around
October, when LOST UNDER A LADDER, my first Superstition Mystery, is published.
I'd heard a while back that blogs were dying in popularity. I don't know the statistics, but it appears
to me that they're going strong. There
are blogs written by individuals and others by groups. Most are just for fun or promotion, but
others even pay those who post there by the number of hits and/or comments
generated by their blogs because it enables the blog host to sell advertising.
Do blogs and blog tours help me sell more books? Who knows?
But I do enjoy writing them, and when I guest on other blog sites the
people who follow them who might not otherwise have heard of me at least learn
of my existence.
So, yes, even though my blog numbers are back to what's usual for me now,
I'll continue to blog and look forward to more, and to tours, in the future.
How about you? Do you blog? Do you follow blogs in addition to Killer
Hobbies?

Blog tours are a great way to get around without leaving home. It sounds like something I need to do. The closest I've done is around 4 blogs.
I "visited" 15 blogs on this tour, Betty, counting ones with reviews only. Plus I'd booked a few of my own. Busy, but I certainly enjoyed it!
I think it was worth it. I blog at Whole Life Yoga and Killer Hobbies. But the tour gave me exposure to places I'd never heard of....
