Honolulu

It took me coming to Honolulu for me to finally take the Apple class. I’m really here as company for my son on a business trip. And I come with perks. I have access to the Admiral’s club and upgrades to first class. There was only one first class seat available, so I told him to take it. Particularly since we had an early flight and he was going to just to drop me off at the hotel and go to a meeting.

I had planned to take a tour or something on the days he was working, but as it turned out it had been very nice just hanging around the hotel. The beach is across the street and there are plenty of places to walk to. Plus our room has a balcony with a view. I finished the edits of HOOKING FOR TROUBLE by my deadline of last Monday, so I have a little time without a deadline. Well, not exactly. It is time to let everybody know that SEAMS LIKE MURDER is coming out May 2. That means it is over due for me updating my website and doing some giveaways. I plan to have some kind of drawing for copies of my earlier books with a little something extra. I’m going to include a crocheted necklace made by me. I have been playing around with different kinds of yarn and cord plus adding beads to some of them. I love making them.

So, back to the Apple class. I kept coming across things I knew how to do on a pc, but didn’t know how to do them on the MacBook and I hoped the class would bring me up to speed. I also had some specific issues. It was an easy couple of block walk the the Apple Store. Love their attitude. It was all friendliness from the moment I walked in the door. The class turns out to be rather free form depending on the issues of the attendees. There was me from Tarzana and two Honoluluans who had been there before. The woman who lead the workshop was great. She knew everything and was able to help me with some of my basic problems. I found out I can take the workshop over and over, though it will probably be in Woodland Hills.

The big test will come when I post this and try to add photos. I think I know how to do it, but we’ll see. My son will have finished the work part on Thursday, then it is two days of doing stuff, though he’s been so busy, he might just want to lay on the beach. Hawaii is a good place to just be.

It looks like I'll be going back to the Apple store. Still couldn't upload a photo to the blog. But wait, I tried again remembering something I learned in the class. And it worked. Hooray! BTW, it's the view from the balcony.

That ocean looks rather rough out there. But it still sure looks beautiful.

That's mystery history there. Honolulu was Charlie Chan's home base.

Jeanette, the waves were pretty big. I just sat at the water's edge and still got hit in the face with incoming waves.

Planner, thank you for the congrats. It was so silly, now looking back. The photos were just out of view in the list and I'd forgotten that you use two fingers to scroll on the MacBook.

Ellen, I didn't know that about Charlie Chan.

Linda, the view was great. I spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying it.

Miriam, I plan to take more classes. It is great having that resource.

Sandra, the wait is almost over. Seams Like Murder comes out in next month. I'm going to do some things on Facebook to get the word out.
