The surgery on my knee went
smoothly, so smoothly that I broke the rule for recovery: get to a physical
therapy specialist asap. Here it is
Monday evening and I’m not scheduled for therapy other than what I’m doing on
my own (following a booklet full of suggested movements). I will see my GP Tuesday afternoon for a
follow-up and my surgeon next week for more follow-up. I am currently walking around my apartment
without the aid of a walker, and the pain is bearable with the help of an
occasional oxycondon. I hope I’m not
messing my healing up by not getting professional assistance in stretching and strengthening that knee.

I hope that knee continues to improve, with or without PT!
I hope your knee continues to improve.
She's walking around without her walker. Not all the time, but often enough for it to count. Both her primary physician and her physical therapist say she's doing amazingly well.
I am so very glad for you that this all went well. And pats on your back for going thru with it. Keep doing the right things (oh I read you haven't had the PT yet), & you will keep doing well. Hip, hip, hurray!
Really? 6 times verifying I am a human? Come on . . . .
My physical therapist said I am doing well on my own with therapy, but I will go over there - it's across the parking lot from our building, very easy to get to! - Friday, and again Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week for an hour in the mornings. I know it's very important to get the right training of the bones and muscles to the knee heals properly. I want to play golf in the spring.
