Deadlines and Life

I've been writing more books for Harlequin Romantic Suspense lately than I've been writing mysteries, although I do have a new mystery being published in the spring of next year. Right now, there are several HRS books already in the hopper, and it appears they may want even more!

I'm absolutely delighted, of course. Romantic suspense and me? Great! I always include romance in my suspense or mystery books anyway. And I enjoy writing for HRS, both in their Colton series and in my own various series. These would be part of my Shelter of Secrets series.  And they'd include dogs!

But along with those possible new books I need to figure out what deadlines to request. And I need to keep in mind possible additional mysteries, too.

These days, as I've said before, I'm sitting at my computer a lot, writing. I've edits coming in, too. I want to keep it up! And I don't want to take on more than I can accomplish.

So, I'm pondering possibilities, even as I write more ideas and work on those stories where edits are starting to arrive.

And yes, I'm leaving home more than I have for a while, even eating dinner out  yet another time.  I go carefully to grocery stores to shop. I exercise near others--but not too close. And of course I obey my pups and take them for walks.

Things definitely seem to be improving!

Things are improving here in Florida as well. Though I still find the situation so surreal and wonder how we got here. Now fully vaccinated, I'm planning a trip to visit my daughter in Arizona.

Good luck with your writing. Your books are awesome.

So glad things are improving in Florida, too. And hopefully Arizona will also treat you well.

Thanks so much for your good wishes, and I'm delighted you enjoy my books!

Linda, Great news that Harlequin wants more books. Always a good thing. I understand what you mean about being realistic about deadlines. You have a lot of thing going at once and plans for more. Good luck with keeping it all straight.

Thanks, Betty. I need a bit of luck to try to figure this out!
