Rainy Daze

Christmas eve and everything seems crazy.  It's raining in drought parched Southern California and more rain is predicted in the days to come despite an earlier prediction that it was going to be a dry winter again.  I happily set the automatic sprinkler control to off.  Everything is turning green and the orange trees are showing off their new fruit.

When it rains here, it really pours.  It's unrelenting and nerve wracking as streets flood.  Farther north in the Serra mountains, the snow pack is supposed to be as tall as a one story building.  I don't remember having rain like this for years

And then the pandemic.  Just when we seemed to be the end of the tunnel, we got Omicron.  So much unknowing, but at the same time so many articles giving out opinion masquerading as fact. I have picked through all the information and personally believe that it is mild and that it will pass through quickly before it runs out of hosts.  I got the booster, wear a mask and wash my hands.  But life has to go on.  Throughout the pandemic I have traveled (actually it turned out more than usual), gone shopping, eaten indoors and gone to amusement parks.  I have mostly been in a pretty good mood.  I believe that worry and fear make things worse.

I am rounding the corner of the end of MAKING IT WRITE.  When I stopped today, Veronica had just the confronted the killer who has a knife.  Lucky for Veronica, I've figured a way out for her.

What else is there to say, but Happy Holidays and best wishes for a better new year for everyone!
