Scary Editing

No, I wasn’t really scared, but I was concerned this week when the story I’ve been editing appeared almost 20 pages longer than it should be. Was I going to have to spend a whole lot more time editing to make it the right length?

Turned out it was fine. The way I write and edit, I’d accidentally included one chapter twice and was just able to delete it. Now, the manuscript is around the right length and I can just concentrate on normal editing, not slicing it.

That was the draft of my third Shelter of Secrets book for Harlequin Romantic Suspense, and I hope to complete it soon.

Meanwhile, I’m still working on ideas for my second Alaska Untamed mystery for Crooked Lane—and looking forward to the publication of the first one in May: Bear Witness, with my pseudonym Lark O. Jensen.

And April? That’s when my next Shelter of Secrets book for Harlequin Romantic Suspense will be published: Guardian K-9 On Call

It must have been strange to suddenly have extra pages, but better than having pages disappear. You always have a lot going on.

I prefer neither happening! And yes, I do tend to keep busy.
