I apologize again for my post last week—late and last minute. And I had to stick it straight onto the Killer Hobbies blog without drafting it on my computer and editing it.
Fortunately, this week my computer is working so I can write my blog before posting it. Not that I have much that’s new and exciting to post.
One thing is that I have been making progress with my new mystery, which will be the second in my Alaska Untamed series. The first, BEAR WITNESS, will be a May release, which has turned out to be interesting. I had registered to attend Malice Domestic, a cozy mystery conference which is in April, and I tried to find out if that book could be made available early. There were a lot of issues and glitches, and I finally gave up and un-registered. Sigh. Well, maybe I’ll attend Bouchercon this year. BEAR WITNESS will definitely be published by then.
One good thing about not attending Malice is that we’ll be able to pick up our new puppy earlier than anticipated. Another is that Malice is the same weekend as the LA Times Festival of Books, so I plan to go there for one of the days with some promotional stuff for BEAR WITNESS.
I used to attend a lot of conferences
and writers’ events. Maybe that will start picking up again.

It does seem like we are all poking our heads out again. It feels good to see people and mingle. Looking forward to your future publications. Hope your new pup gives lots of good snuggles. Have a great week.
I agree, Sally. I keep thinking of more places to go than I have for the past couple years, although I'm still not doing much--but more to come. I'm sure the new pup will give lots of good snuggles since she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, too--the breed I'm addicted to. Just don't know how our current Cavalier Cari will react. And you have a great week too!
Linda,I know how you feel about conferences. I had considered going to Malice, but decided not to. It's hard to to commit to something in advance after all that's gone on for the last two years.
Very true, Betty. I'm still considering Bouchercon but remain unsure. At least my new book will be published by then. And I may show up for a while at the LA Times Festival of Books without committing to hang out anywhere.
