Thanksgiving 2022

 It'

It'ss wind weather here in Southern California.  It shouldn't be a surprise, it goes with the season.  The Santa Ana winds come through every year around now.  The air feels cold and parched and the wind slips inside through any available crevices.  The wrong kind of ions get stirred up and there is a certain tension that goes with them.  Will trees fall over, will power line smack together and spark.  There are thwacks on the roof as dried out palm fronds crash down.  I feel like I should wear a hard hat to go in  the yard.

Thanksgiving is suddenly on the horizon.  We are invited to a friends and we're bringing corn bread and dessert.  I have been a vegetarian for almost 40 years.  The rest of my family is not.  So we went to a restaurant with a buffet that had turkey for them and a lot of vegetarian options for me.

KNOT A GAME, the 9th Yarn Retreat Mystery, is all set for the December 6, release.  It's available for pre-order, though not for the print edition on Amazon yet,.  I still have to update my website and do some promotion.

I also received notice that SENTENCED TO DEATH is up on NetGalley for reviewers.  It doesn't come out until early next year.

It happened. I just got an  alert on my phone that a power line is down nearby.  I hope that's the only bad thing that happens.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I think it's a bit windier where you are here in SoCal than where I am, Betty, although it's definitely breezy here. I hope things worked out okay with your downed power line.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. And I'll look forward to hearing more when KNOT A GAME is released!

Hi Betty -- I just had a thought about a crochet problem one of the Hookers had -- sorry, I don't remember which book it was i or the crocheters name but she's the one who has anxiety issues and crochets to relax. She'd crocheted a row so tightly that the hook wouldn't go through the stitches. One of the crocheters gave her a smaller hook to use, Since stitches are so easy to correct, why didn't she just rip out the row and start fresh? I've heard people say they were "frogging" a mistake -- took me a while to figure out that meant "rip it, rip it."

I'm in Phoenix -- lovely weather here at the moment -- mid-70s expected all week -- my kind of weather.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with friends and family,

Patty

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Hi Patty, It wouldn't have helped Sheila to rip it out because she would have just done the same again. I find that the first row is always the hardest, so going forward Sheila would have a better chance to make looser stitches in a new row.

You weather sounds nice and similar to what we're supposed to have for the coming week. It's certainly a lot easier to deal with than 6 feet of snow. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
