Back to Work

Not that I ever stopped working, but as you could tell especially from my last post I was distracted somewhat by the rain. It has stopped now and there’s no prediction of more in this area at least for the next week. I hope there’s more after that since we certainly needed rain, but I’ve heard that the various authorities did store quite a bit of water, which is a good thing considering our drought.

I think my dogs did fine despite the rain, although the puppy, Roxie, tended to look at me when she was about to step on damp gravel or pavement as if requesting that I dry it first. But she did pretty well considering that dampness, and the older dog, Cari, always does well.

And now, well, I’m working under the deadlines I’d mentioned before. My edits for CRY WOLF, my next Alaska Untamed Mystery for Crooked Lane, are due today, and fortunately I’m nearly done with them. Next, I need to go back to finishing the first draft of the manuscript for CSI COLTON AND THE PREGNANT WITNESS, my next Harlequin Romantic Suspense story due this year.

Because of those edits due today, I’m not going to say much here since I still have a little to finish. But so far 2023 is going fine with me, and I hope that’s so for you too.

Good morning -- You sound very busy but that's a good thing.

I heard that California got an estimated 22 billion gallons of rain water -- hope that helps with the drought. My daughter lives near Antioch and there was lots of rain there but thank goodness, no flooding.

My granddaughter just texted me -- her boyfriend's dog, a German shepherd, ate a sock and it has totally blocked his intestines. They have to decide whether to do $10,000 surgery or have Bubba put down. Sad situation.

My son and I went to the new Tom Hanks movie, "A Man Called Otto," yesterday -- very moving and touching story, and a tear-jerker. We'd seen Hanks in the Elvis movie -- he played Elvis' manager and spoke with a terrible accent -- not one of his better films!! He redeemed himself with Otto.

Enjoy your day -- I have a few household chores, then lots of crocheting.

Good morning. Just checking my post before diving back into work. Good to hear from you, Patty. And I'm so sorry to hear about your granddaughter's boyfriend's dog. Maybe a GoFundMe?

I saw "A Man Called Otto" too and also thought it was well done, such a moving character depiction.

And enjoy your chores and crocheting! Have a great day!

Hi Linda -- An update on Bubba -- he is up and perky as a pup -- amazing the tiny incision that had to be made to remove the blockage.

Enjoy your weekend.
