Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

I’m excited that the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books will be held this weekend! It will certainly keep me busy. I will be there both days, I’ll be hanging out at various times at the Mystery Writers of America Los Angeles Chapter booth, the Sisters in Crime LA booth, and the Los Angeles Romance Authors booth, meeting readers and signing some of my books.  And I’ll also be wandering around in between, seeing other booths and authors and friends.

It's held at the University of Southern California campus, where I used to take law classes many years ago as a visiting student, though my degree is from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. I once knew my way around that campus well, though I’ll have to do more exploring these days.

And I’m of course still writing and editing when I’m not attending the LATFOB this week.

Good morning -- Sounds like you'll be having a busy time -- enjoy!! We lived in Long Beach way back in the mid-1950s when my husband was in the Navy -- loved it then but it has changed so much since then, I doubt I'd recognize anything. We lived near enough to the ocean that we could hear the waves at night and the fog horns -- I didn't care to get in the water but loved the sounds.

I ordered your book "Once a Cavalier" -- should arrive in a few days -- sounds like a good read.

Of course, I've been crocheting a lot -- try to do at least one afghan a week. I counted my stash of yarn skeins -- yikes, I have 106 plus the ones for the project I'm working on now. Shouldn't have to buy more for a while but sometimes yarn just calls out "buy me, buy me" and it's too much to resist. It all goes to a good cause -- other than gifts, all my afghans go to Project Linus.

My grandson has early-out from school today so we're doing lunch -- probably Taco Bell -- he'd eat there every day if he could.

Enjoy the rest of the week and the coming weekend --

Patty

Good morning, Patty! Yes, I'll be busy. And I certainly hope you enjoy "Once A Cavalier." I always love writing about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels since they're my babies, but I write about other dogs too because I enjoy all pups--and don't want to overdo it with Cavaliers!

I enjoy Long Beach. My younger son lives there now, and he heard the car sounds of the Grand Prix last weekend.

Enjoy your crocheting, and your lunch with our grandson. And have fun the rest of the week too.
