I am pushing through to finish KILLER HOOKS and I'm at the point where the story takes over and the characters start dictating rather than me trying to put words in their mouth. I keep calling it KILLER HOOKS, but I don't know if my editor will agree. This is the first Molly book, he'll be working on, so he might have other ideas for a title.
The story is on my mind all the time and even in my dreams. Relationships that I didn't notice before show up. This is my favorite part and even with interruptions every five minutes, I don't lose my train of thought. It seems like everything I do, eat, watch, read gives me something to put in the manuscript. I lose track of time and the day seems like a minute. I have to do any have-to chores before I start writing or I'm likely to forget.
This is the fifteenth book with these characters and I know them all pretty well.
I am behind on the crocheted project, but I have decided to do the pattern I include a little differently this time. Instead of a specific pattern because the granny square blanket can be made with left over yarn and can be made in different sizes, I'm going to give the stitches and what number to use to figure out how many chain stitches to start with.
I still have to test the recipe I'm going to include. That is always my families favorite part as they get to be tasters.
I posted about the book on Facebook and was happily surprised by how many people commented that they were looking forward to the book. I just hope it lives up to their expectations. All I aim to do is somehow share the fun.

Good morning -- I'm certainly looking forward to "Killer Hooks" -- Molly and her fellow hookers are always fun to follow.
I just finished a granny square blanket -- one big square using deep pink and variegated pink yarns. I always put a simple loopy edge on a granny square -- gives it a nice finished look. Started a teal basketweave last night while watching the Phoenix Suns get clobbered by Denver -- my son and I are big fans.
It's cool this morning -- had to put on a warmer robe.
Enjoy your day -- I hope Molly and friends keep giving you lots of ideas about what they want to do. Have you ever thought of having a few of the Hookers attend a yarn retreat with Casey? Someone is murdered, of course, and in her hand is clutched a crocheted flower from the vest Adele is wearing.

Just finished re-reading all the Molly books. Now I've started on the yarn retreats. Love them all. Really looking forward to your new Molly book. :)
I am always full of ideas for your characters too, but sometimes they listen to you instead of me !! It could be interesting to put Molly, Casey, and Adelle in the same book.

Linda Osborn, I appreciate suggestions, even if I don't always take them. I'm not sure the characters listen to me either. Sometimes as I'm typing, they say things that surprise me. I started thinking about what it would be like to have the characters in the two series meet and I think it could be a lot of fun.
I love to hear how how the story comes together for you. It is so interesting. I am reading my last Molly book in the series and then I will be all caught up. I love this series as well as the Yarn Retreat seres and the Writing series. Your books light up my life.
