I feel like a broken record saying how the year is flying by. I am stunned that May is just about gone. Jakey, my son and I did out last Disneyland trip before our passes are blacked out for the summer. It was grad night and the place was mobbed. We didn't even try to get on any rides, but just watched a show, the fireworks and the Paint the Night parade.
My watch keeps track of how far I walk and it said I walked five miles, almost all of which was at Disneyland and California Adventure. I was tired today and ended up taking a nap with the cat sitting on my chest.
Sometime when we go to Disneyland I bring along pages that I 'm editing. Somehow all the commotion is a good backdrop for me to work. Yesterday, I brought along some paper from a legal pad and a pen, thinking I might get some ideas for the scene I'm working on. But I never got a chance with all the walking around the two amusement parks..
Now I am definitely ready to sit in front of the computer and be glad to stay put.
I have finally gone back to crocheting the rest of the body parts for the kitten. All I have left are the ears and the tail. And then to sew it all together. I am determined to finish it, even if the face turns out weird. It seemed like it would be a quick project because it was small. But that's not the way it turned out.
No matter how it turns out, I will post a picture.

Good morning -- I'd just typed several paragraphs and zap, they disappeared!! So here goes again.
This year is flying by but for some reason, this past week has seemed very long.
I haven't been to Disneyland in years -- took my granddaughter for her 8th birthday and she'll be 26 in a couple of months!!. When my kids were little and we lived in Sacramento, we went a couple times a year. My mother was bookkeeper for a toy store and the Disney salesman gave her passes for us. That would be nice nowadays -- I don't see how families afford it.
Crocheting little creatures is more time consuming than you'd think it would be. The cat pillows I make work up fairly quickly. I'm making a dozen of them for a friend of my son who is a fireman -- he said they'd be nice to give to kids to hug when they are traumatized by a fire. I'm happy to do it. I'm also making an afghan using the basketweave pattern, using an ombre yarn. The shadings are beautiful.
Doors open at the moment, enjoying a cool morning breeze. But I hear the sound of distant leaf blowers so doors will be closed soon!!
Enjoy your day, your writing and your crocheted kitty, weird though it may be!!
Patty, those are the good old days when they used to be generous with Disneyland passes.
I love that you make the cat pillows for kids who have been traumatized. So nice to give them something to hug. I'm sure your good vibrations come with the pillows, too.
The cool morning breeze must be nice.
Fun that you got to visit Disneyland again, Betty. Happy end of May. And I'll look forward to seeing your crocheted kitty!
I just typed several paragraphs also, and they flew away ! I was talking about the cats I used to make from mop heads. They were all different, but that makes them special. I have learned from all my years of crafting that you never throw anything away. Just change it up a bit and someone will buy it. My daughter used to paint adorable animals on baby shirts, but if something seemed a bit off she wanted to toss it.I convinced her to paint a tiny bee or butterfly over the mistake and it worked every time. Different things for different people!
I haven't tackled a crocheted animal yet. Maybe someday. I'm looking forward to seeing yours.
Though I live in Orlando, close enough to hear and see the fireworks that is one of the places I refuse to visit May through October. Too hot. The fiery furnace has already heated up here. Yikes!
Hope you have a good weekend.
Linda O. Johnston, I'm glad we went to Disneyland earlier in the week. The weather was perfect. Today would have been too hot.
Linda Osborn, those touches your daughter did probably made the shirts even nicer. Handmade things aren't meant to be perfect.
Anonymous, I can't imagine going to Disney World in the summer. I went once in April and that was already too hot.
Oh my goodness Betty. For some reason I showed up as anonymous . That was my comment about Disney in the summer. I should have realized as my computer has signed me out of everything lately. Oh well. Happy weekend anyway. It's me Sally Morrison :)
I have not been to Disneyland in years but I have fond memories of going. I am finishing two afghans and I am so excited as I have been working a long time on them. One is pink and white granny squares and the other is a bunch of rectangles that include knit and crochet that I made to use up leftover yarn.
Sally, I thought anonymous was you. :-)
Miriam, your afghans sound lovely. I love the idea of mixing knit and crochet squares.
