Dancing Around Each Other

I sent off the list of corrections for SCONED TO DEATH.  This time it was really good bye to the manuscript.  The next time I see it will be when I get my author copies.  It's already up on Amazon for pre-sale.

The trade paperback of DEATH AMONG THE STITCHES comes out  January 27.  It feels like my books are doing a do-si-do.  That's the square dance move where you pass around each other.  The Yarn Retreat book is in there too since as soon as I hit send on the corrections, I went back to working on it.  I thought I had the title down, but once I included the potholder making, I thought about putting LOOMING in the title.  My editor suggested  something like DANGER IS LOOMING.  I thought about LOOMING DEATH.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After all the rain we got, the weather has turned warm and sunny.  The only reminder of the time of year is the low angle of the sun and the still short days.  It was heavenly to take my coffee outside this morning and feel the warmth of the sun.

It is nice to wear lighter clothes, but before I think about it being a forever change, I remind myself that it's still winter even if the daffodils have already sent up their green shoots with the promise of flowers to follow.

Good morning -- You have been busy -- I'll pre-order "Sconed to Death" today.

The weather here has been beautiful. I need to get a couple pots of daffodils to put on the patio. I treat them as an annual since I don't have a yard in which to plant them. My neighbor gave me an amaryllis bulb -- it is blooming with two stalks of white and pale pink flowers -- so pretty.

I've been asked to make an afghan for a friend's grandson -- he likes gray so I'm using a gray speckle yarn and plain gray in a moss stitch -- looking good.

I'm making spinach bread for lunch today -- it's more like a quiche than bread -- just a thin biscuit-like layer under the filling. I've had the recipe since 1963 -- got it from a newsletter at a bicycle shop!! When we'd go to potlucks, I'd ask what I should bring -- the answer was usually "anything, as long as it's spinach bread." It was very popular.

Enjoy your day, your writing and your looming.

I went to Amazon to pre-order your book, typed in the title and a totally different book showed up. When I added your name, your book came up, thank goodness. I'm all set for June 2.

Patty, The amaryllis sound beautiful. I noticed that the daffodils that grow in my yard have a fragrance. It's faint but lovely.

Your plans for the afghan sound great. The speckle yarn ought to brighten up the gray.

The spinach bread sounds delicious. No surprise it was so popular.

Have a great weekend!

Having your books do a do-si-do is really fun, Betty! I've slowed down, and therefore so have my publications--one a a time these days. Keep up the dancing and writing!

Linda, there is something to be said about doing publications one at a time. It turns out I spoke too soon about the manuscript being done. I got back a bunch of queries from the publisher's proof reader and someone on the editorial staff. So, I still have one more chance to make changes.

Well, a 3 day adventure at the hospital again, but I got away before they sent me to convalescent this time !! I am a great collector of kidney stones, and this was the biggest bunch ever. Laser treatment, then a stint to keep for a while. I wished I had a new book to distract me. This is not one of my favorite things to collect. Starting to feel better now that I am home. Keep writing !
