Most Thursday evenings I go to yoga. The good thing is I feel all stretched and relaxed. The bad thing is when I come home I feel too mellow to do anything. But there is always my blog to write and tonight, pages to go over for Yarn2Go.
I am really, really at the end. I am proofreading with a little tweaking and a little rewriting - at least so far. I hope I don’t suddenly come upon a section that makes no sense or get to the end and realize I left out a major clue.
There is going to be a scarf pattern in it. Knitted this time. I really like how it’s turning out. I’m almost finished with the knitting part and then I’ll add some fringe. And the recipe is still to be done. This is my families favorite part. It means I’ll be baking something. In this case, it will be Heal the World with Chocolate muffins. I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but my main character Casey Feldstein is a dessert chef for a restaurant and a free lance muffin baker. She provides something to go with the drinks at the coffee spots in Cadbury by the Sea.
This book feels like it has been taking forever to write, but now that it is getting close to sending it off (I plan to hit send on Sunday), I’m feeling all bittersweet. I love the characters and the area where this book takes place - on the Monterey peninsula. I have a bunch of books and have been looking at pictures of the coast up there. I have enjoyed being there, even if it was only in my imagination.
Though I certainly can’t complain about the weather here. Particularly after seeing what it has been like elsewhere. Over 100 degrees in Chicago is just too hot. It has been below normal here and even when it’s hot during the day, it cools off enough at night that you always need a blanket.
I spent my fourth of July working on my manuscript and sitting in my backyard enjoying the colorful solar lights that twinkle in my garden. I ate the first of my homegrown tomatoes. Wow!
I’m sitting her yawning from all those yoga moves, wondering how much work I’m going to get done tonight before I fade.
How was your fourth of July?

Congrats on being so near to finishing Yarn2Go, Betty! I love the sound of it and look forward to reading it. I've been following Chicago weather, too, and worrying about family and the heat--and feeling fortunate to be in LA right now.
Linda, I hope your grand baby is keeping cool.
Me, too!
I predict that you'll feel really good once you hit that send button. You'll have other extended visits with Casey, and she needs to get ready to meet the world. Congratulations on this milestone!
Planner, I did feel good when I hit the send button, then the next day I started feeling at lose ends. Tuesday, I started on the next Molly book.
