I'm Back Again

Last week I blogged about my family trip to Cancun.

This week, I'm blogging about what I did last weekend: attended California Dreamin', the romance conference held every other year locally in California, mostly by the Orange County Chapter of Romance Writers of America, although other local chapters have participated, too.

The conference began on Friday.  On Thursday, I received an email asking me to give a talk on Saturday!  It turned out that poor Kate Carlisle, who'd been scheduled to give a presentation on cozy mysteries and romance writing, was not going to attend because of illness.  So did I step up?  Sure!  I've given similar talks on the past and updated one to the present.  I think it came across okay.

I of course attended other talks and panels and lots of good meals at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Brea, California.

This was the first of four writing conferences I'll be attending this year--a busy one!

And did I get any writing done while I was there?  Nope!  But I've dug back in again, though I needed to catch up on emails and preparations for promoting For A Good Paws, my last Barkery & Biscuits Mystery, which will be a May release.

Have you done anything fun and exciting these last couple of weekends?

Oh, and by the way, next weekend I'll be attending, and doing some signings at, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books!
