I Have A Cold

Yes, I have a cold, darn it. Not Covid—just sniffles and coughing worse than my usual allergies, and I sound hoarse. No fever or other symptoms except being a bit tired. Plus, I’m fully vaccinated. I’m being careful anyway, though.

Having a cold was never fun, but it seems a bigger deal these days when getting even a little ill can give the impression of worse…

I’m staying as busy as I can anyway. Still letting people know about my latest release: UNCOVERING COLTON’S FAMILY SECRET, my latest Harlequin Romantic Suspense, the tenth in their Coltons of Grave Gulch series. Doing it online, though, as I’d been doing anyway with the pandemic going on. Yay, social media!

I’m also considering attending Malice Domestic next year but am hesitating, even though I used to go all the time. The website shows a lot of people already signed up, and though I’ll be long since finished with my cold by then, I don’t like the idea of being in large crowds these days.  I’m finding out if my first Alaska Untamed Mystery, BEAR WITNESS, could be made available then, since Malice is in April and BEAR WITNESS is officially released in May.

So, right now? Back to my writing. And if I happen to wind up taking a little nap, why not? Maybe it’ll help me shove off this unwelcome cold faster.

I'm right there with you. I have a cold too. Not Covid as I am triple vaccinated. You're right, sniffles these days makes you think of other possibilities. I'm napping, drinking fluids, crocheting, and reading. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you also have a cold, Sally. And I hope you feel better soon too.

I take a prescription that gives me a dry cough. I feel like I am constantly apologizing and explaining. But I do still continue to always wear a mask so that I don't make people uncomfortable. (triple vaccinated).

Yes, these days if you even sneeze once, you feel you have to explain its not covid. Sorry about the cold and hope it goes away quick. I can't believe it's already time to think about Malice. I'll have to think about going.

I have nonspecific allergies, Miss Merry, that have made me congested and cough since long before Covid so I'm used to explaining that, too. And I wear masks most places except outside when I'm not close to anyone. I wonder what it'll be like when we can put all this behind us.

Thanks, Betty. And I'm fairly sure I'll go to Malice--although I checked, and I can register but change my mind before the time comes.
