Got Her and Wow!

Puppy Roxie is now a member of our family!  We did in fact pick her up last Wednesday, as I’d indicated here that day, though we didn’t have a name for her yet. But she’s our first ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, as I’d indicated. She’s adorable. She’s busy. She’s insistent on attention and she loves to chew everything. Well, hey, she’s a puppy. And she’s making good progress in being housebroken. And it’s definitely fun playing with her.

I’d worried about how Cari, our now older Cavalier, would react. She’s being patient even though Roxie loves to try to steal her food and treats and playtime.  But they’ve slept snuggled together briefly twice. Hopefully, that will continue to improve.

I’ve got a lot going on now, including starting more promotion for my two books to be published in May, including an upcoming blog tour with Great Escapes blog tour for BEAR WITNESS, my first Alaska Untamed Mystery for Crooked Lane, to be published under my first pseudonym, Lark O. Jensen. I’ll also be writing an article for CrimeReads. And more, including Dru’s Book Musings. And doing things also to publicize my May Harlequin Romantic Suspense book GUARDIAN K-9 ON CALL.

But even sitting at my computer to write short pieces, let along work on an upcoming novel, is a real challenge with Roxie around. When she wakes up in her playpen she cries, and I have to go take her out and play with her for a while to tire her out again so I can try to work for a while.

Plus, I want to continue to give as much attention to Cari as I can. She was used to getting it all for a while, and now she deserves to get as much as possible.

Yep, I’m busy! And definitely enjoying my puppy!
