I’m on my way to Bouchercon today!
It’s in Minneapolis, so at least the weather should be a whole lot cooler than it’s been in LA recently.
I’m flying, so I’m worried about potential delays, especially since I have to change planes, but hopefully all will go well. I’ll be wearing a good quality mask, at least.
I usually schedule these kinds of events with roommates, but out of caution this year I’m staying alone. More expensive, yes, but oh, well.
And in any case, this is a large conference so there will be a lot of other people around anyway.
I’ll be on a panel called Odd Jobs: Writers Write What They Know. Do I write what I know? Yes and no, but in any case I conduct a lot of research.
Plus, I’m attending a Sisters in Crime breakfast and meetings with other people including some from my current mystery publisher, Crooked Lane. As I’ve mentioned, I’ll be talking about Bear Witness, my first Alaska Untamed Mystery—or, rather, Lark O. Jensen’s. That’s my first pseudonym.
And there are a few panels I don’t want to miss, including a couple that will involve discussions by other authors whose mysteries involve dogs.
My own dogs will stay home with my husband. And I’ll be headed back on Sunday.
But I intend to have a good, safe, enjoyable
time while I’m there, and traveling to and from the conference. Wish me luck!
Oh, and if anyone does post a comment here or a wish for good luck, I most
likely won’t be able to respond till my return.
