The free time is over. I got back the edit for KNOT A GAME. The good news is that my editor loved it. There were no giant holes in the plot and his changes are mostly typos and things like missing words. So now I am going through it. I've had enough distance from working on it, that I can look at it with a fresh eye and read it almost like a reader would.
Meanwhile they are working on a cover. It's always exciting to see what they come up with.
The crazy part is that I start thinking about the next book I'll be working on --the 15th Crochet Mystery. I already know some of the broad strokes of what's going to happen, but today the first paragraph popped into my head. Of course, I jotted it down and wanted to keep going, but first things first. Finish KNOT A GAME.
I did have to take time out to deal with my website. I noticed that I hadn't gotten any emails coming from it lately. When I checked it, something had happened so that the contact me page didn't work. I have noticed that computer stuff just seems to happen on its own, which appeared to be what caused the problem. My web guy has been working on it for several days and I think the contact me page is once again functioning.
I am still getting used to the new keyboard. The feel of it is better than the one that came with the computer, but my fingers are still landing on the wrong keys too often . The old one was flat and this one seems to have a slope. That's life now --always adjusting to a change in something. I just got a new phone and apparently, it does a lot more than the old one. Or that's what all those emails I keep getting from Apple claims. I started to read about the changes but quickly decided It was more information than I wanted. There is so much you can do on your own now, but do you really want to do it?
At least there is no chance to get complacent anymore.

It's amazing to me that you can keep all the themes straight. Love your stories. Happy weekend!
Sally, it helps that they take place in different locations. I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. Happy weekend to you, too. I'm off to Chicago. I don't know if you were a fan of Chicago beef sandwiches when you lived there. But there's a great series The Bear about a fancy chef who inherits his brother sandwich shop that specializes in the beef sandwiches.
Um, don"t let Chicago get you off on the writing series yet--it is Molly's turn !! She has to break her news to Mason, get Peter out of her house and Barry in, and hopefully plan a wedding. That should be so much fun--and they will no doubt stumble on to a body on their honeymoon !
I admire you for many reasons, Betty--including your handling of techie stuff! Congrats on getting good feedback from your editor.
I just finished Hooking For Trouble. I'm catching up. I love the series and the characters. The ending was so exciting I can't wait to read the next one. It seems like On The Hook is only available on ebook because I can't find a hard copy or paperback anywhere.
I also notice that computers do things and change things on their own. I have a new phone and I still don't know how it all works. I tried to do something on it and deleted some important information so now I am scared to touch it unless I am using it to talk to somebody.
Linda, don't worry I am anxious to get working on Molly and already have the broad strokes of the story. Just a hint. It's not what you're expecting.
Linda O. Johnston, the feeling is mutual. I have always admired you since our days in Los Angeles Romance Authors.
Chkntza, did you check Amazon. I show that they have both the trade paperback and hardcover. It's all up to the publisher. I just got a new phone too. That's the way it is now. Just when you figure something out, you get a new one and have to start over.
A funny footnote to Hooking for Trouble. I based it on a house going up behind us. The new house is actually at the end of a cul de sac and the side of the lot borders the back of ours. Thanks to a bank of redwood trees and torry pines we planted years ago, we can't really see the house. However, someone just built a even larger house on the other side of the one behind us. There are no trees to separate the houses and the new one is so close to the other one that at first I thought they were in the same yard. The houses are literally looking into each others windows. There won't be any nude sun bathing for them.
I'll keep checking Amazon and other bookstores until I find a print book since I am collecting your books. Thanks for the suggestion. I just checked Amazon and they have Kindle and audio today but it keeps changing. Good luck with your new phone.
That's interesting about the house. I live in an apartment and my windows look into the windows of the building next to mine. Believe or not I have caught some nude walkers from time to time.
Good news! I just found a copy on Amazon and I got it!
Sob...I have looked forward to a wedding for Molly and Barry for so long, and now you are sounding like that might not happen...surely she won't go back to Mason again, and let Barry settle on his nurse !!! Can l be one of your proof readers and slip in a few changes? This couple just has to get together permanently !! When his face actually showed emotion, and he called her the love of his life, that cinched the deal !!
